Windows 3.7.2 to 4.2.1.20

Hi Folks:
I still have a 3.7.3.6 TSM server (I know, I know) on AIX 4.3.2. (I have a new
4.2 server but it will be March before I get it up and running due to a
corporate splitup.)
I may use the old server (3.7.3.6) for the W2K servers behind the firewall.
What I'm wondering is if I can use the latest Windows client, 4.2.1.20, with
the 3.7.3.6 server? Is there an upgrade path that I should take or can I
install 4.2.1 and then 4.2.1.20 or do I just go from 3.7.2.0 to 4.2.1.20?
NetAdmin doesn't want to open up any ports for TSM (1500, etc) because of
security reasons. I'm not experienced on firewalls so I assume they're right
about an open TSM port being a security risk.
Is anyone using this configuration or anyone that can let me know if this
combination is feasible?
I appreciate any responses.
Danny.
