Re: NetWare client restore performance

My VERY ROUGH calculations are:
Calculate whether the client has "Small", "Medium" or "Large" files on it.
Do this by dividing the number of objects by the MBytes on the client.
Clients with Small objects can be restored at 22,500 objects per hour.
Clients with Medium objects can be restored at 18,750 objects per hour, or
1.5 GBytes per hour which ever is the greater.
Clients with Large objects can be restored at 3.5 GBytes per hour.
To these rough times, add a "fiddle factor" of between 5 and 30% - depending
on how many tapes you expect to be needed to achieve the restore. This extra
allows for tape mounting etc.
Using an NT server on a 100 MBit network, with DLT 7000 tape library.
Cheers, Chris
