We have had situations lately where the operator has IPLed our MVS machine
We have had situations lately where the operator has IPLed our MVS machine
while ADSM was up and running.  I can understand how a normal backup would not
be effected by this process (in terms of data integrity - not lost processing
time), but other functions bother me.

For example, we had a tape reclaim proceeding the other night, when the server
was IPLed.  When ADSM came back, the reclaim started again, but I was
concerned about the data that was in the process of being moved from one tape
to the other.  Are there any problems with end of tape processing (no trailer,
no EOF, etc.) that we should warn the operator about (or better yet,
automate?)  I saw the same thing occur as we were migrating to tape from the
DASD pool.  Any exposures here?
