I can think of two possibilities: 1) set Always Open = "no", so Bacula will release the drive at the end of every backup. This will make it re-examine the tape in the drive at the start of every back

I already tried this but it does not work for me because bacula ejects the tape. If there is a second job waiting it will fail because there is not tape and nobody to insert it. Same as above... Any

Fair enough. If you want to eject the tape after the last job, you could try running an admin job which ejects the tape, and time that job to start after the last backup (and run at a lower priority,

Hello John Sorry for the late feedback; I just wanted to let the things running for some time before reporting any results. In fact setting the option 'Offline on Unmount' to 'no' solved the problem!
